More Wainwrights! Rufus duets with his aunt, Sloan, on the banjo-laden track "Tired of Wasting Time."

Rufus & Kate McGarrigle perform the lush "Lowlands Away" on this album of pirate songs & sea chanteys, inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Loudon Wainwright & Teddy Thompson also appear (don't miss one of Loudon's contributions, "Good Ship Venus").

An interesting project-- a collection of songs based on the 10 biblical plagues that take place in the book of Exodus. It's fairly ho-hum. But most critics agreed on Rufus' stand-out contribution, a track called "Katonah" (about his late cousin).

Ann Magnuson is a singer-songwriter, actress, and performance artist. 2006's Pretty Songs & Ugly Stories was her first album in over ten years. Rufus is featured on the track, "Whatever Happened to New York?"

Rufus contributes 2 new songs to this animated Disney film: "Another Believer," a horn-fueled track that sounds like it belongs on Want One, & "The Motion Waltz (Emotional Commotion)," a tender string-laden waltz. I'm excited for his new stuff!

Another great cover: Rufus joins Heart's Ann Wilson on her first solo album for a cover of Bob Dylan's "Hard Rain's a-Gonna Fall." (Rufus also appeard on a Heart concert special for VH1, joining the band for a rendition of "Dog & Butterfly." Too bad that isn't released on CD/DVD!) Shawn Colvin also appears on this track.

Groupes de Pamplemousse is a benefit compilation album released during Suicide Prevention Week in Quebec. The songs all tackle the issue of suicide. Rufus, Martha & Kate McGarrigle contrinute the track "Il pleure dans mon cœur" (based on a poem by Paul Verlaine). Rufus & Kate composed music for the song; Martha & Kate sing. Another family affair.

Once again, Rufus contributes backing vocals on his sister's (excellent) sophomore album. He appears on "The George Song."

Rufus makes a guest appearance on Mareva Galanter's second album, Happy Fiu, singing on the Serge Gainsbourg-inspired "Serge et Jane." Galanter, a French actress and former beauty queen, released the album to coincide with a Gainsbourg exhibition in Paris on October 21, 2008.

Another great War Child compilation. This one features younger acts covering songs from their mentors (or "heroes"). I believe the established acts hand-picked the younger acts, so that means Rufus was picked by Brian Wilson himself to do a medley of songs from his "Smile" album. A+!

Rufus adds harmony vocals to Rosanne Cash's rendition of Merle Haggard's "Silver Wings" on his, her covers album.

Marlango is a Spanish band & for their latest album, Life In The Treehouse, Rufus plays piano & adds backing vocals to the track "The Answer."

In the 3-disc deluxe edition of Ben Folds' upcoming career retrospective, he includes a disc of unreleased live tracks which includes he & Rufus's rendition of Wham!'s "Careless Whisper" from when they toured together back in 2005. A nice belated treat!!
