Foundational: An excellent text of the Greek New Testament, without the critical apparatus. Instead, they have places lexical help in the notes for all words that appear less than thirty times. Quality binding, and a great working volume for those refreshing there greek.

Foundational: Daily devotional reading on how to live a disciplined life in community with a group of believers.

Theology: The first volume of Barth's masterpiece. This volume is especially important as it concerns his theology of the Word.

Philosophy: This is supposed to be the beginning of all serious thought...as well as the finest new translation.

Philosophy: Augustine's thought begins to address the big questions of history and its purpose, political science and how we are to live together and rule ourselves. Important for Chrisitian worldview.

History: I will read the last volume, as in the past two summers I read volumes one and two.

Poetry: The best of poetic voice of the 20th Century? Many think so.

Poetry: My all time favorite voice.

Literature: Again I will read Shakespeare, especially the Histories.
